About Me

My name is Breda Brennan, and I’m a 22-year-old MSc Project Management student at UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School, class of 2026. I was born in Limerick and lived there until I was fifteen, before moving with my family to Clontarf, Dublin in 2019 to pursue better academic and athletic opportunities. I’m the daughter of two incredibly supportive parents, Maria and Niall, a sister to three sisters and one brother, and a proud owner of two lively cockapoos who keep life both fun and chaotic.

At eighteen, I moved to the United States on a Division I tennis scholarship to attend Wofford College in South Carolina, where I earned a double major in Finance and Economics, along with a concentration in Data Science. While there, I balanced high-performance tennis with leadership roles in the International Student Organization (ISO) and the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC).

Outside of tennis and academics, I love to travel, explore new coffee shops, and listen to personal growth podcasts, which have taught me the importance of living with purpose. This has always been central to who I am—going through the motions has always scared me. I approach everything with intention and meaning. I’m motivated by making a difference, seeing my actions positively impact others, and feeling a sense of accomplishment in the work I do.

My experiences to date have made me a well-rounded and empathetic person. Through sport, study, family, personal growth, and travel, I have been shaped into the woman I am today: independent, resilient, and fuelled by ambition. I’m now focused on building a career that blends project management and strategy, allows me to keep learning, and stays grounded in the values that brought me here.

My Personality Profile

One of the most powerful and impactful personal and team-related tools that I’ve learned this semester is the MBTI. This has helped me understand my natural tendencies and how I function within teams. I am an ISFJ - Introverted, Sensing, Feeling, and Judging - a personality type often described as dependable, thoughtful, and grounded.

As an Introvert, I’m reflective, composed, and intentional in how I communicate. Through Sensing, I pay close attention to detail and value accuracy and practicality. With Feeling, I lead with empathy, emotional intelligence, and a genuine care for others. And finally, through Judging, I rely on structure, organisation, and strong follow-through to deliver consistent results.

Together, these traits shape how I perform as part of a team. I’m someone who listens carefully, notices details others may overlook and brings a sense of calm and structure to a team. I am reliable and encourage high levels of collaboration within teams. I take responsibility very seriously and ensure tasks are completed to a high standard. People often describe me as a perfectionist and someone who contributes to a positive team culture while keeping performance and purpose.

Understanding my MBTI didn’t just confirm my strengths; it clarified the qualities I naturally lean on: empathy, discipline, and strong commitment to the people and projects I care about. But these MBTI results also give me an opportunity to improve on areas of weakness. Areas for growth include:

  • Managing Over-Responsibility: I naturally take ownership of tasks and the well-being of those around me, which can sometimes lead me to take on more responsibility than is sustainable. I’m learning to balance this and support others within healthy limits

  • Setting Clear Boundaries: Because I value harmony and helping people around me, I can be slow to create boundaries, and often find myself helping teammates before having my own work completed. Developing clear boundaries will help me protect myself and my time more effectively.

  • Expressing my own needs: I tend to prioritise others' needs over my own, which means my needs sometimes go unnoticed. However, this development area has seen the most improvement this year through continuous teamwork and collaboration.
