Short Term Goals

Over the next year, I’ve set a number of short-term goals to guide my personal, professional and academic journey. This page outlines the key milestones I’m working towards and how I plan to turn them into concrete results.

One of the short-term goals I’m proud to have already achieved and taken off this list is securing a graduate role; the goals listed here represent the next steps in my development.

GLP Goal

In the short term, I want to continue being an active participant in the Global Leadership Programme. I am aspiring to make meaningful contributions to group activities, continue to attend speaking events organised by Peter Conlon - GLP leader, and to win the UCD advert competition of the UCD with my group.

The successful completion of the programme and receiving the GLP certificate will be an important milestone in my development as a leader.

02

Capstone Project Goal

For my Capstone project, my goal is to complete a well-researched and thoughtfully constructed piece of work that creates value for the reader. My teammate and I plan on publishing a book exploring how project management tools can help non-profits and SMEs operate more efficiently. The success of this project will be something that is both academically robust and practically useful.

Academic Goal

Academically, my aim is to graduate from the MSc in Project Management with a First-Class Honours (1.1). This requires that I work towards delivering strong performances in my coursework, contributing actively to my classes, and submitting assignments that reflect high levels of thought, research, and communication. This requires effective time management across modules and assignments, balancing timelines throughout the year rather than relying on last minute effort.

04

Personal Goal

On a personal level, I am interested in learning more about myself both as a team member and a leader - understanding which leadership style comes most naturally to me, and where I need to grow. I also have implemented another goal since beginning this master's, that being making a deliberate effort with my work-life balance. This semester, I noticed how easy it was to withdraw from the activities that usually bring me joy. In the short term, I want to protect time for these parts of my life - sport, friends, and rest - to ensure I can show up more sustainably in both academic and professional settings.
