The Beginning

My tennis journey began at age 10 through local summer camps, evolving quickly from recreation to serious commitment upon recruitment to the Junior All-Munster Training Programme in Limerick. This demanded high-intensity, five-day-a-week training. To keep progressing, I began extensive travel across Ireland, notably the challenging three-times-a-week drive to Mayo for specialised training. This early dedication led to significant success: I achieved the No.1 ranking in Ireland for Girls Singles across the U14, U16, and U18 categories. The pressure peaked during 4th year when I spent 5–7 days a week in Dublin; my school attendance suffered so severely that my teachers were largely unaware of my schedule. Barely graduating that year was the wake-up call I needed to prioritise academics. This realisation prompted the final necessary step: in 2019, my family moved to Clontarf, Dublin. This strategic move eliminated the draining hours in the car, provided easy access to the National Tennis Centre at DCU, and was crucial for securing future opportunities that Limerick simply couldn't offer.
